Four days left, my friends. Really, three, because two of the four are half-days. My sweet kiddos are super-excited for school to end...let's face it...who wasn't at their age? Their excitement has turned them into little "blabbermice", so during this last week of school, we'll be reading,
Blabber Mouse by True Kelley. It's one of my favorites, and perfect for this time of year. It's a fun book, with just enough challenge (2.8 reading level) to keep my kiddos busy. Blabber Mouse just can't keep quiet about anything. The bigger problem is, he tells everyone's secrets to everyone else! I've created a literacy unit to keep us on track for the next few days of learning. You can pick up a copy by clicking on the picture:
I'm also linking up with the Fabulous Farley for June's Currently
Love and Kisses,
Found you in Farley's Currently! I'm so glad i'm not the only one counting down to the end..lol We have 4 1/2 days left! I love Blabber Mouse, I used to read it to my kindergarteners when they started to tattletale a lot, but now that I think about it my 4th graders could use it too! LOL

Mrs. Bucaroff's Fantastic Fourth
Heather,
DeleteI'm sure your fourth graders could appreciate Blabber's antics! I actually use the book to encourage general peace & quiet, but LOVE your spin on the tattling...my first year in second grade, I remember stomping down the hall muttering to myself, "Mrs. Gravett doesn't like tattling!"

I'm jealous of your three days... We still have 18 days to go!
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of "Blabber Mouse" before, but I think I need to check it out! I love books that teach routines/expectations. This sounds like a good one, thanks!

You'll love it, and so will your kids! Blabber Mouse is a hoot, but perfect for getting kids back on track, building community, etc. I feel AWFUL you have 17 days left!

HA! You are funny. I, too, would love to drop 30 pounds in a few days. Today is my first official day of Summer Break! We still have dance recital in a few weeks...don't like that it's later now.

Thanks, Autumn! Oh, how I wish I knew how to get the last 30 off - the first 70 have taken over a year, so 13 days would be awesome! I'm thinking the blender on the beach will NOT help! Thanks for following...

Hahahaha... BLENDER! YES. I say YES to a blender.
ReplyDeleteHappy last few days of school :)

Closing the Gap... in a Cute Outfit!
Yep, blender, a definite need; however, I have discovered conveniently frozen pre-blended beverages, which are perfect for your cooler on the beach or at the pool...they make WAY less noise and need no extension cord!

I'm jealous you are going to the beach!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on making it to that point and also with the 30 lbs.
You have a positive attitude about it, so I am sure you will succeed. :)
Antoinette
Girl, don't be jealous. I'm going with my parents, my children, my brothers, their wives and children, and we all stay in a very overcrowded, loud, crazy house FULL of kids from 1-11 years old! Still, there is the actual beach to escape to...
DeleteAs for the 30 lbs, I'll get there eventually, but I'm afraid not before leaving next weekend!
Brooke
