SLACK!

WOW!  Slack hardly begins to describe my blogging lately! I've been pretty overwhelmed with some personal issues. Honestly, it would be great to get them off my chest, so who wants to listen?

My husband and I were all set to buy a house of our own (we've been renting for the past 6 years, after a foreclosure at the beginning of the real estate market crash, before all the assistance programs). We were pre-qualified, found the perfect house (the owners' last name is actually Perfect!), made an offer that was accepted right away, and were so excited!

Then the bank asked for tax returns. That's when my husband had to "come clean" that he hadn't filed any for the past 2, maybe 3 years. WHA??? House, gone! Taxes unpaid, unbelievable! Needless to say, I had no idea. My taxes are taken out of my paycheck of course. He was self-employed, and just didn't do it. Can you say marriage counseling? Yeah. Not to mention that the house we live in is for sale. We are now looking at 1100 square foot apartments. This is a four-person, one-dog family living in 3300 square feet, mind you. Do we need all that? No. Do my children understand? No. Do I even understand? No. Can we make it work? I hope so!

The best advice I've received is, "if God takes you to it, he'll take you through it". That is so very true. We needed a reality check. Obviously, we've been living above our means. With a daughter with spina bifida, we never know what procedures she might need. We have way too much stuff. Garage sale begins this weekend!

So, now that my depression and anger are over, I am resigned to finding a way to rescue myself, my husband, my marriage, my family, and finally my little blog. I'm so thankful to have a network of blogger friends who always listen, offer advice, and support each other! I'm back. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Hugs,

  3. That house would be $600,00-$700,000 where I come from.
